F16 pilot, Belgium, 2000 and later

This F16 pilot’s uniform dates from the years 2000. The CWU-27/P Desert suit displays the rank of captain-commander.
The patch on the sleeve represents the operation in which the pilot took part, in this case Operation Guardian Falcon in Afghanistan, and the chest patch indicates that he belongs to the Belgian Air Force 350 Squadron (see photo left).
The pilot is strapped into his lifejacket, but the parachute is not part of the outfit, as that is attached to the F16 seat.
