The War Heritage Institute is delighted to invite you to an inspiring and informative lecture to mark the opening of its newly renovated 'Dutch Gallery'. This event promises to be an enriching experience, as we bring together academics and museum specialists to discuss two central themes: "The birth of the Belgian state and its impact on national identity" and "The national narrative in military museums".

- From Waterloo to Leopold I: The birth of the Belgian state and its impact on national identity :
A series of renowned Belgian and foreign historians will take us on a historical journey, exploring the birth of the Belgian state and how this momentous event significantly shaped Belgian national identity.
- The national novel in military history museums:
Leading museum specialists will share their views on the challenges and opportunities of presenting national histories in military museums in a short presentation, followed by a debate comparing their points of view.
